Numbers matching engine

Hello all,

I am trying to determine if the engine in my '67 GT 390 is the factory “numbers matching” install or not. The Marti report indicates the following:

Actual Build Date - May 11, 1967
Released - May 12, 1967
“S” code 390, 4V

Attached is a picture of the

engine block build date. My interpretation of the build date is May 18, 1967. I know that it is a 390/410 big block by the casting number (C6ME-A). The production/build dates seem to contradict one another. Can anyone provide some insight for me?

Thanks,
Dennis

I would say that is not the factory engine. As it was cast after the build date for the car.

My april 28 built car’s engine was cast 3 weeks before the actual build date. It too was a 390.

Do all of the other engine dates match the block date ?

All of the “bolt-ons” match the engine build date, but the intake manifold is a C8…(68).
