Off Topic: I just want to send out a Thank You

on this Veterans Day to all of the Veterans and those currently serving in our military along with their families whose day to day sacrifices are often overlooked. I found the video below a few years ago somewhere online and find it a very fitting tribute to those that serve and have served. Next time you see a Veteran please thank them personally for their personal sacrafice, I know I do.

Thanks for posting the video Scott. Thank you to all our Veterans!

x 100.

That’s a great song, thanks for posting.

In particular, thanks to the Viet Nam vets that never got the respect that they deserve.

Thanks for that, Bill. Two years ago, long after the country should have learned the lesson, I ended up walking out on a July 4th holiday TV special because they completely skipped over the Vietnam War. My wife wrote the network a letter and thousands of others must have done the same because last years special corrected the oversight.

I was a Navy veteran and never served in-country, but I can remember not being able to wear my uniform in public. It’s an unfortunate chapter in our history but there are moments that offset the negative memories. One such moment, for me, occurred a couple of years ago when I mentioned to a class of college hires that I was a Vietnam-era Navy veteran. After the class, a young Vietnamese woman came up to me and thanked me for my service. She went on to explain that her parents were able to escape Vietnam with the help of U.S. military personnel and that had made possible the life they’d built here in America, She just wanted me to know how grateful they were.

CatVert; THANK YOU for your service during a very bad period in our lives. I know too many 'Nam vets and have heard too many stories of the fights both “over there” and when they came back home; and your war was the least respected and maligned conflict known. You deserve much more than we here can offer; but we can at least offer our thanks.

Amen to that. Thank you to all that serve and have served.
