An awful long time between burnout and staging. Did they say that the Cougar was a twin-turbo?
That’s the main reason why I can’t stand watching drag racing. Sure it’s fun to do as I’ve done it in several cars. But as a spectator, not so much. It’s even worse when someone grenages an engine, trans rear gear. You get to sit forever while the clean-up takes place.

The announcers did say the Cougar is a twin turbo, and they also referred to the other driver as “the man with the Mustang”.
That’s pretty impressive how the Cougar was able to demolish the Mustang that far into the race after being behind. Makes me think he could have really put the Mustang to shame if only he got a better start.
