I noticed the license plate bolt on my 69 looks like a black version of the reproduction AMK sells. Does anyone know if this could be an original?
These were an item typically tossed in the car by the dealer - so the follow up question would be where was your car delivered/sold?
The head markings and screw type do appear to be like some originals just checking if they may be original to your specific car by asking the question above
When I was in college in late 60’s I worked as a lot boy/shop flunky at a Ford dealership. Putting plates on for the salesmen was one of my jobs. If I remember correctly the plate screws were either hex or a slotted hex so we’d take both a screwdriver and a wrench as we never knew which might with car. The little square plastic pieces would break so we’d get another pack from parts. I ended up having extra in my pocket a lot of days and I still have some in my bolt bin. We treated them like valve stems caps-nothing special.
