Picture Test Post

My usual MCnet method does not work. Let’s try this:

Hmmph, does not work even though it seems to be compliant with Jays’s Howto. The link to the picture is below. When I try the way I do on MCnet (right click on image, copy and then paste into the post I am creating), “paste” is greyed out.

Any ideas?

Edit: Looks like I have to open the picture properties and copy that URL, for some reason just grabbing what’s in the address bar up top of the page and pasting it between the IMG tags does not work. Like this:

Here have another (nice wheel I did, huh?):

http://www.montess.net/gallery/Interior/IMG_4796

Maybe I have answered my own question as to why get VB for the site software…

testing a pic of my first car

Jean

Yup. no better at this
finally got it!

right click on the pic, and chose copy picture address, paste between the 2

I thought I would give this a try…

For this first one, I hit the button for Image (Img on the tool bar). The I pasted the image location on my photobucket account in between the tags.

Okay, that worked.

Next, on photo bucket they give you some choices of different addresses to copy. One choice is IMG code. I copied it and pasted it:

Okay, that seems to work. Are you guys seeing the picture?

Dang if I wasn’t practicing, and just noticed my first car had a passenger side mirror

shoot!

Jean

And HiJackers, LOL! I think that those were required back then!

ok My turn to test

Yup just clicked on the img data in photobucket and then control V here and wallla

Do you have any idea what this does to someone drinking coffee and puttering around this site, at 06:00 in the morning, on a 40" screen?

sheesh! :open_mouth:

The key is to use either a direct link to the image within the “img” tags from the editor, OR an image link from somewhere like Photobucket that adds the

[img] and [/img]

tags for you, but not both.

Notice I said a direct link to the image. The URL (web address) needs to be to the image by itself, not a web page that has the image on it, or you’ll get unpredictable results.

time for a new Tranny!

Glad we got that out of the way… LOL!

sorry couldn’t help myself…

OK, lets see …

Try again …

I give up!!!
How do I add a photo from my pictures folder?

For the first image, you didn’t have a complete path to the image. Your URL looked like this:

http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy258/haunruh/1969%20Eliminator%20Restoration/

See how it doesn’t have a file name on the end of the path? I don’t know which image you were trying to show, but say you wanted to show the first image in that album, the one of the car entering the shop. The URL should include the file name like this:

http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy258/haunruh/1969%20Eliminator%20Restoration/1car.jpg

With the second image, it looks like you copied the email/IM link:

http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy258/haunruh/1969%20Eliminator%20Restoration/?action=view&current=interior.jpg

instead of the direct link:

http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy258/haunruh/1969%20Eliminator%20Restoration/3car.jpg

or the IMG code link, which includes the IMG tags for a forum like this one:

[IMG]http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy258/haunruh/1969%20Eliminator%20Restoration/3car.jpg[/IMG]

OK, try again …

ahhhhh, got it!! Need to delete the ?action=view&current= from the photobucket URL.

Now just need to make the pictures a bit smaller.
Thanks.
