Hi people,
As I’m new to the group, I’m not new to cougars. But with new times comes new questions. I have a 69 xr-7 and I want to plus size the rims. I feel like a 18 inch rims is a good choice as it still leaves some rubber in between the rim and road. I’d love some feedback if anyone has gone this route and what size would be best.the suspension is still stock but, I do plan on lowering it in the future. Thanks in advance.
My 1969 has 17x8” front wheels with 245/45-17 tires and 17x9.5” rear wheels with 275/40-17 tires. I have Street or Track front coil over suspension with their tubular upper and lower control arms and spindles, Shelby/Arning drop, adjustable strut rods. Rear is basically stock configuration but better components. Lowered all the way around. Wheel backspace is critical to what width wheels and what size tires you can fit.
