Power Tour Cougar

I have a co worker engineer doing the 2012 power tour this year. He just sent this photo from Champaign, IL of a Cougar on the tour. Nice Cougar but I would remove the door ding trim.

Very nice…

Considered doing the Miami, OK to Stillwater, OK leg, but, life just gets in the way sometimes.

Nice car Brian. Between the Power Tour launch, and the Detroit Grand Prix, I think it gave the SAAC-MCR show at the Ford World Headquarters a lower then usual turn-out. There wasn’t even a Boss 302 mustang (or cougar) there. I looked around for Joe to see if he brought one of his cars or something that he said he might bring, but nothing. I mean no Joe or even the prototype Shelby tail lights he said he was going to put on one of his buddies Shelby’s he was helping with. I hope he’s not MIA again.

That trim is usually on the Sports Specials - mine doesnt have it but I think it was an option that you could get at the dealer.

Ugly door ding side trim was an accessory, not an option; options are from the factory, accessories are from the dealer. Unfortunately most of it was riveted on the car, not glued; at least if glued you might get away without repainting the car. If riveted it likely devalues the car by about $4K at least.

I was woundering if you attended the show and if Joe was there. I was thinking about going but, I still have the G in storage and was pretty burned out from attending the Indy 500. So, I stayed close to home.

I been following the power tour on youtube. Looks more like a chevy tour glad to see a cougar there for sure!

My buddy and his brother are driving a 1982 dodge mirada they bought off his uncle last fall for $800. They gave it an ex nascar look by painting it flat black adding some spoilers and nascar side exhaust. Some black wagon wheels to complete the look. Turned out Ok other then the red crushed interior looks out of place. They did up the car just for the tour and plan on selling it when they get back home. Went to the power tour site but, didn’t see any pictures of it.

Looks like there was a Cougar at the Muskegon, Michigan leg of the tour. http://bangshift.com/gallery/2012-power-tour-muskegon-michigan.html?pid=101104&nggpage=2
