Power window motors?

Are these a good choice for replacement power windows for 1970?

I don’t recognize the maker and they are crazy expensive. You can find Dorman replacements for 1/3 of that price or less.

Those are absolutely priced into the stratosphere. Rock Auto has them for a fraction of that price.

A very common problem is the drive dogs in the gear disintegrate over time. If the motor runs but the window won’t move, that’s likely the problem. The complete gear set is about $15.

Wow, that is a very massive difference in cost! Have you had good luck with the Dorman replacement parts?

The Dorman units are solid. I used one on my passenger side over a year ago and have one in a box for my driver side which has been running slow but still works.

I bought these parts, thanks! It will be a while before I can try and use them, but they should be fine on the shelf for a while.

I have a stash of good used motors from various parts cars, so I’ve never had to buy one. I have used the ACI gear sets and they work fine.
