project update posting advice

My project is the cougar XR7 turbo 4 and I would like to toss this out and see what comes back.

I am glad to see that you are watching my effort and before I go on I am about to dive into the inner nervous system, and I will be at times dealing with cougar circuits that will be identical or nearly identical to the whole 1970 cougar XR7 system.

You have seen the gauges that I have altered and with that I will be into all the gauge circuits.
Also circuits like, backup lights, alternator, power distribution, power windows.
Or let’s say, just about the whole car.

As I progress with this project I make many drawings, notes, and in those notes I include the color of wire and stripe color along with the circuit numbers from the cougars wiring diagrams.
I would like to make my project a learning experience for everyone, it has been for me.
The postings that I make are snips from a more complete and detailed documentation.

My question is: how much do you want to know about the wiring of a cougar or this cougar?

I don’t mean extreme point to point on everything, but instead use some simplified drawings of a particular circuit that I am working on with wire colors and circuit reference numbers.
And maybe a detailed, semi detailed or a brief detail of the circuit?

Or would it be better to keep the project updates short and show progress.

I can only work on my car in the spring summer fall and during the winter I start to compile my documentation and also the best time for me to post updates.

What would work best for everyone on this board as to how I should post wiring updates?
At what point does a poster hit the TMI limit. Just curious is all.

Thanks
Mick.

Mick I enjoy following you updates on the turbo upgrade. Some of the tech detail is beyond my understanding but I still enjoy reading it. I think there is never TMI that can be shared. If you are about the document the whole car as far as wiring why not make a separate thread dedicated just to that. This way the information on wiring would be easier to follow for someone that might be doing the same to their Cougar and they would not have to read through the engine/turbo upgrade. Just a thought.
Steven

The great thing about a medium like this is that what you put here today will be accessible in the future. I agree that there is no such thing as TMI. People doing other wiring projects will learn a lot from what you are doing. The whole reason the site exists is for information sharing so don’t be concerned about using too much space or anything like that.

thanks for the input.
As far as social media goes this web site is it for me, I do not do Facebook, twitter or any of the others.

Steven, That thought about writing a separate post did cross my mind and was part of the reason for my question.
I am not to sure how much time I can spend but I might toss a few out in the tech section.

my fishing trip was a success, you have answered all my questions, thanks.

Mick
