Pump to carb repro line

Hey everyone, I have a 67 std, 289 4bbl with a Autolite 4300 carb. Codes on carb make me believe it is correct. WCCC is out of stck atm on the pump to carb fuel line they sell. I’m hopefull the one they sell will work… I’ll be rebuilding the carb and do a tune up shortly. Collecting parts and wanted to replace the existing line that has an in line filter hacked in place.

Ordered a classic tube muc-1007-ss from summit. Description says fits 2 and 4bbl. Well, it would probably fit a 2bbl, line came across engine on passenger side pointing at the firewall. Returning this line, classic tube then suggested muc-1013-ss . This says boss 302 of various years and models on the tag attached to it. Summits description is vague at best. I trial fit it and the discharge points straight up next to the distributor, a foot short of the carb. :wall:

I have no clue what the pump is, these should all have inlets and outlets in approximately the same location as factory pumps, yes?

So, has anyone purchased a pump to carb line with a 289 or 302 with a Autolite 4300 carb that fit? The lower half of the line has fit good on both. It’s the last couple turns to the carb that haven’t worked.
What did you buy?

Thank you!

I bought the Classic Tube MUC1009 for my 67 289 Cougar running the original Autolite 4300. It fit with no issues. NOTE: I have California emissions on my vehicle.

Keep in mind that the fuel pump may affect the alignment of the line from the pump to carb. If you have an aftermarket fuel pump with the connection in a different orientation / location than the factory style fuel pump, then the line may not match up quite right where it end up at the carb.

Wow coach! Thank you! After looking at classic lines description, may I ask how you decided on this one? All it says is mustang and galaxie. I had even sent a photo of the ford engine assembly manual for pump line routing for my application. I’ll set up the return for line #2 and order this one.

Mike, I get some “tweaking” may be in order. The two lines I’ve tried so far weren’t even in the ballpark

Thanks guys!!

Edit, hey coach, summit lists this pn for a 2bbl big block. Is the catalog that bad for these things??

I’m pretty sure that the Classic Tube printed catalog back in 2013 specifically called out 289 with 4300 for the 1009 part number however the latest online catalog makes no mention of 4300 applications. You should call Classic tube and ask them for their recommendation, if they tell you the 1007 or 1013, tell them NO then tell em to grab the old catalog and lookup the 1009 description.

UPDATE - Classic tube Catalog #11 published in 2010 shows COC1009 289 CID - 4 Barrel - Autolite 4300. The latest online catalog does not show this part number however I believe the MUC1009 is the same, but you should call them directly and ask. Note my cougar is a 67 standard Cougar with a 289, autolite 4300 with California emission, non ac car.
