I tried it with your permissions in Linux/Firefox 9 and I have the animation, so it’s not permissions. I tried it logged-in in Winblows 7/IE 9 and I didn’t get any animation, either, so it looks like it’s a gallery watermarking-related OS/browser thing affecting Win 7/IE 9. I turned off watermarking in the gallery temporarily, and now I have the animation back in Win 7/IE 9.
The weird thing is that I cleared the cache in Win 7/IE 9 after turning watermarking back on, and I still had animation. IE is notorious about not being good about clearing its cache, so that may be why I still had the animation after turning watermarking back on rather than it being fixed.
So, I would say our best options are to:
Turn off watermarking.
Move signature images to folders outside the gallery.
Jay I say leave watermarking on. I will move my signature image to photobucket. I like the idea of watermarks for unregistered users. Keeps our images from becoming posters and such on eBay.

I still see the WM on some photos. (Win7-IE9). For example, in the current Vote thread (http://www.classiccougarcommunity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=687) the pictures in post 2 all have the WM, none in other posts. Scode’s gif is animated, no WM. I am always logged in, but logged out and back in to eliminate that possibility. Have same behavior on my Android phone using Opera browser. Hope it’s an easy fix.
I just tweaked the settings for the watermarks. Here’s the way it works with the current settings:
If an image is larger than 450 pixels x 250 pixels and it’s from the gallery, it will have the watermark if you are not logged in. Anything less than that (width or height), and any images that aren’t from the gallery, won’t have the watermark.
If an animated GIF is kept in the gallery, it will be subject to the same rules regarding size as other images.
Maybe you are on double-secret probation. I will check it out if you give me a link to the page and tell me which image you’re seeing a watermark on while logged in.
It looks like you were on double-secret probation, though I can’t imagine why or how. I tried it with your permissions in Win 7/IE 9 and was able to reproduce the problem, which always makes it easier to troubleshoot these things. I reset your permissions and it’s working correctly for me now. Please check it to make sure I got it for you and let me know.
