Drag racer Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen passed away on June 10, 2018. I do not believe that Tom ever had any racing time with our Cougars, or even any Ford products however I believe that he touched many of us in some way especially when we were younger. How many of you had some variation of the famous Hot Wheels Snake and Mongoose race cars? Probably most of us. I still have a pair of the funny cars and a pair of front engine rails. RIP Mongoose.

Oh gosh, I’ll never forget the x-mas I got the Snake and Mongoose drag racing set with the rail dragsters that would grab the parachutes at the end of the track/race. Hours and hours of fun and I still have most of that set to this day.

On a weird and kinda related note, a client of mine who owns a race team just bought Don “The Snake” Prudhomme’s transport truck to use to haul their 2 race cars in the Pirelli World Challenge series and I’ve designed a new wrap for it.
