Radiator clanking noise

I have a 73’ with a 351c and when it warms up it makes a clanking noise its doesn’t seem to overheat a feel the clanking vibration at the lower radiator hose. It has a new cap, thermostat, restrictor plate, i flushed the system. i checked for bubbles in the coolant and no bubbles it seem to suck all the water down at times and other time overflows. Any Ideas of what i should try next? Thank you guys for all the Help all of you on here a great and helpful people.

With the coolant sucking down and overflowing… it sounds like you have an air bubble in the engine coolant system. The clanking is probably the sound of coolant flashing to steam.

Get a giant funnel and stick it in the radiator cap opening. Then start the car and let it warm up. When the thermostat opens the coolant will push way up in the funnel and then suck down. But that will burp out the air bubble.
After that, stop the car and top off the radiator with coolant.

You should be sure to start this process when the engine is cold!

Thank you Mike.
