Very rare large scale tin model on eBay. Looks to be in good condition

This ASAKUSA (Japan) 1967 MERCURY COUGAR is in Near Mint original condition, in its original box. The 15-inch long tin toy has a few minor paint abrasions, a little paint spidering, and slight corrosion on the undercarriage. The tin bumpers and trim are bright. The interior is nicely detailed and lithographed. The battery operated mystery action, and front fender blinking lights work well. The rubber tires and chrome plated plastic wheels are near mint. The original box is complete, but has scuffs and brown aging. This is a great example of this seldom seen Asakusa ’67 Mercury Cougar. You will be happy when you drive it into either your Japanese tin or Mercury Cougar toy car collection.

This seller has been trying to sell this for several months now. His starting price has ranged from about $350 to $800. He did get some bids on it when he started it real low one time but it did not meet his reserve.

If it was the Fire Chief or Police Car version I might pay up to 350.00 but that much🙀
No way I have car parts to buy!

Sold for $775.00

With box doubles value of a loose version. The fire chief is hardest to find followed by the ambulance. Police and regular editions are slightly more common. Condition and availability sets the price. See Legendary Cougar Magazine Vol 2 Issue 6 for a great article on these Japanese in cars along with Taiyo and Bandai!
