Rats! Twisted off bleeder screw :(

The bolt broke just inside the block, and so did the extractor. In hindsight, it was dumb to even try the extractor. Luckily, the boss for the bolt in that area is very beefy, probably more than an inch long, so as I end up mangling the first 3/16th of the bolt hole I’ll still have plenty to work with for reassembly (once I finally get the bolt out of there).

Good times. Going through a lot of drill bits.

I’ve used the welded nut option a few times and it has worked well. Just get the heat/penetration right on the weld and you should be able to back it out.

Would not be the solution here but this thread brought to mind welding rod specifically designed broken off taps, bolts, etc.
