Rear axle bearing leaking everywhere!

Hello Everyone,
I have a 1970 cougar xr7 with 351w sb. I have 28 spline axles and need to change the axle seals and bearing. Does anyone know a part number for this, measurements for the seals or bearings, or have a link that can give me that information? I am having trouble finding measurements or part numbers and the local part stores do not have anything in the system for the bearings or seals. Have to love those autozones and oriellly’s. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

Thank you in advance

That seal should be readily available even at most auto parts stores. It is a standard Ford 9 inch. When in doubt you can always go to West Coast Classic Cougars (WCCC).

They show to be out of stock at the moment but the listing at WCCC includes plenty of detail. NPD is another source as is any mustang parts vendor. Don at WCCC has done a terrific job in supporting the Cougar community and for that reason and good service they are my preferred source.

WCCC is a great source for us. Another on line source is Rock auto.

Seal, More Information for NATIONAL 9569S

Bearing, More Information for NATIONAL RW207CCRA

I had to do a search by part name under 1970 Cougar 351.

Cross reference those part numbers on Amazon. Might get lucky, and free freight, with Prime.
Can’t hurt.

Dont cheep out on the seal
Those napa type seals just fold up during installation, leaking around the outside .
National makes a stronger seal body that resists folding. Pack the backside with heavy grease to prevent the spring from jumping out of the groove or use a installation tool that loads the spring.
Or buy double lip seal axle bearing with o ring and forget the seal.
Make sure your axle housing vent is open. If not you cant stop the leaks
