Is there a good aftermarket version of the rear wheel houses that need zero to minimal alterations? Mine are shot and need replacing. I see that Rockauto carries them but not always in stock. Any info appreciated gents.

Sorry to say for our cars there are no reproduction wheelhouses made for 69/70. Your going to have to somehow find some good clean used ones. I am not sure for the inner wheelhouses but the outers only used is your best bet.

1969 Cougar outer wheelhouses are 1969 Cougar only parts. The inner wheelhouses carry a 1967 Cougar part number so the inner wheelhouses are 1967-1970 Cougar only parts.

Anyone have any luck cutting up a 69 Mustang outer wheelhouse for parts to repair the Cougar wheelhouse? My outer wheelhouse’s are toast.

Mustang wheel houses will NOT work on a cougar… The arches are totally different. Your going to have to look and find a 69 wheelhouse to fix your car. 70 wheelhouses will work but your going to have to use sections of it as the 69 opening is wider then a 70. Sorry to give you the bad news .

Im aware they wont fit, Im really wanting to know if anyone has experience cutting off the bottom 6 inches of a mustang wheelhouse and patching a cougar wheelhouse with the removed section. I need to replace the front and rear lower 6 inches front and back on both sides of my car. Im willing to buy the Mustang parts and cut them up but if someone has tried it and it wont work ill try and make something myself.

Wondering if you tried hacking up the mustang wheel houses to patch your cougar wheel houses and if so, how did it go.

Nope havent gotten to it yet. Some day down the road, hopefully not to soon.
