Rear window defogger

Hi all. I recently bought a NOS rear defogger kit for my '67 XR7. It was missing the grille but I purchased a C8ZA-18C491-AW.I know this for a '68 but apparently can be fitted to a '67. I would like to know what modifications need to be done. I’ve checked the forum but it confused me a bit.

I do not think that the 1967 package tray can accept a 1968-70 rear defog blower assembly. Will need modification, meaning trimming.

Thanks for the replies. The kit I bought IS for a 1967.The grille is for a 1968, different shape from the one shown , virtually rectangular - C8ZA-18C491-AW

Dale,

You can make the '68 grille fit the '67 package tray. The hole is bigger in the '68 package tray. You will simply have to open the hole up until it fits.

Thanks Royce. I rather thought so and you confirmed it for me. It will be a while as I just found a transmission expert, who has done many C6 s. It will be great to finally get this car on the road.
