I recently picked up a maroon rearview mirror for a 68 at a local swap meet. It appears to be a high b or low a condition. Problem is, my interior is saddle. Did Merc ever make a saddle colored mirror, or dark brown to match the dash pad and carpet? Unless someone wants to trade me for the appropriate color, i plan to change out the glass with one from Don, then dye the housing to the right color.
I would love to have the Maroon one for my 68. The only color I have seen in the saddle cars is black. I would happily make a deal with you.

Agree, a '68 with saddle interior would have black dash pad and mirror.
Saddle interior cars in 1969 got chocolate brown mirrors, I have several of them here. I do not see them in early 68’s but rather the later style with plastic flip lever used in late 68. For all I know these could have been from 69 cars that migrated over to 68’s? They are so dark that you have to look at them hard to see if they are brown or black. This is the later version linked here…
My guess is that service replacement mirrors were usually black so that might help tilt the scales.
My dash pad is actually a very dark brown.

Don, how much would a early 68 black mirror in similar condition as my marroon one run me from you guys, preferably with one of your blem resilvered glass installed ?idk if my mirror is considered grade a or b
We could probably come up with a $60 mirror but you would have to call as all we have listed on the site is Grade A.
As long as its in about the same condition as the maroon one i posted pictures of. What is your definition of a grade b?
