replacing rear leaf springs?

Getting ready to tackle this job and was wondering if anyone had any tips, tricks, or suggestions on the task. :smoke:

Profanity seems to help. Seriously this is a job that we all need to do from time to time. I have been lucky so far and have not had to use the saws all. I hope that you take some pics as you do the job and share what you learn.

There is a little pictorial here on the subject, 2 pages.

Thanks for the link and i’m sure some profanity will be involved  Ive got the 4 jack stands and floor jack ready, also the spray to try and loosen the old bolts. Pretty much the link / pictorial was what I was told but always helps with pictures and additional information. Didnt know if anyone else had the pleasure of doing this and knew something more. I’ll try and remember to take some pics. :smoke:

There is a phenomenon, yet to be satisfactorily explained by automotive science, frequently observed in conjunction with loud, boisterous profanity (and occasionally, in proximity to quantities of blood), which is this: that whenever two or more automobile components are joined by three or more fasteners, the easy removal of all but one fastener renders the remaining fastener impossible to remove without substantial damage to one or more of the components and/or serious bodily injury. This phenomenon is known as the “goddamnblastedbolt effect.” God speed.

Ok heres the update. As suspected there was some profanity involved, not as much as I expected but still some. So I washed my mouth out with miller lite last night and am doing the same now for todays profanities. Pretty much the link C7XR7 posted with pictures was spot on! Never having done this it took me longer on the first but of course much quicker on the 2nd. Now heres the obvious…if someone asks to help let them, there are a few moments where an extra set of hands and eyes are very useful. Make sure you have a penetrating solvent, liquid wrench/mechanics helper/ and so on as well as a silicone spray and 6 point sockets and wrenchs. The floor jack was essential especialy raising the new leafs into position. The end result wasnt what I expected, only raising the rear 1 inch, but the old passenger side had a broken leaf so it was a good job to get accomplished. Thanks for all the help! :smoke:
