The consensus so far is that the XR-7 dash should be correct for '68 and still work for the .67.
We will also make an couple of improvements so the lower edge on the passenger side will match the lower edge on the driver side. It will also mount with threaded studs instead of the fragile tube and nut, and the upper mount will all mount with screws instead of melted plastic studs.
The question is the Standard dash.
The '67 had a raised bump at the bottom just under the bottom edge of the fascia pad. It ran across the entire width of the dash. In '68 they eliminated that on the right side of the driver panel and all across the passenger side. Image below shows the bump on the driver side, and no bump on passenger side. They did this to accommodate the '68 knee bolster just above the glove box on early '68 production. To my eye the '67 version looks better finished. So here is my question:
Has anyone ever tried to install a '67 standard dash with the '68 knee bolster? if it is not possible we may have to go with the '68 version to make it work across the board.
We will also create recesses in the panel and provide velcro so the '68 fascia will attach without those impossible to find really pricey clips. The upper mounts will all attach with screw and we will use threaded studs instead of the plastic tubes and nuts.
