All one needs to do is check the Lincoln Mercury Accessories Catalog,
I was able to put my hands on 1969-1973 Catalogs, This is what is listed. I do beleive I have a 68 catalog - but it wasn’t in the same bin with the others.

Whats interesting on the 69 it shows 6 colors and references a C7WY/C5ZZ part number for each with white being listed for 69, it was probably available 67-8 too. Dig out those 67-68 Dealer accessory catalogs!

The big question about the green listed for 72&3 was if the color changed - 72 Cougars used a Medium Green interior, and 73 Cougars used an Avacado interior.
As for D4WY white mats, there was probably a new number since they had apparently been removed from the books after 69. Also part numbers often got bumped up if there was a new vendor/product change - even a slight color variation or mold change would recessitate a part number change.
I think the original reproduction running cat mats were done in black and red? any chances of a new run in some other colors i.e. Blue, or ginger/brown?
In the 1967 Mercury Cougar Accessories Brochure, the rubber Cougar floor mats are described as dealer installed and shown with the basic part numbers of 6213056 (front) and 6513106 (rear) in five colors, but it does not state them. I have the '67 Mercury trim book and while it does list options, it does not show them as factory installed either, or list the colors.
In the '68 Lincoln Mercury Accessories Brochure, rubber Cougar floor mats are shown with the basic part numbers of 6213056 (front) and 6513106 (rear) in the following colors: black, blue, ivy gold, dark aqua, saddle, dark red, and parchment.
In '73, Ford went to a new, universal floor mat that was available as a standalone option, part of an option group, or available over the parts counter. These mats were rubber with twin carpet inserts, and available in front or rear sets. There were a multitude of colors available (including Avocado) to match any original FoMoCo interior (including Cranberry (!), a rich pink/red raspberry color to go with the Cranberry interior that was part of the Silver Luxury Group on the Mark IV). These do fit '73 Cougars, as I had a set in my XR-7 convertible. The regular rubber mats are also listed in the (1973) Lincoln-Mercury Accessories Pocket Price List. I have the '73 L-M accessories brochure and the colors listed are: black, blue, green, brown, and red at outlined above. Black and red have '67 Cougar-specific part numbers, the other colors have '70 Cougar-specific part numbers. In the '74 Lincoln-Mercury Accessories Pocket Price List, the rubber floort mats are listed in the following colors, all with '74 Cougar-specific part numbers: black, blue, green, brown, white, and red.
Anyone know what original 1967 floor mats are worth? I have some OEM black mats that are in great shape and still have the rubbery feel to them without cracks. 2 front that look in near perfect condition and 2 rear which surprisingly one of the rear is slightly worn!?
Just saw this and will add: I sold new Cougars in the 1970 model year. If on the factory order form the option for floor mats was checked, the car came with color keyed rubber mats with a “Cougar” imprint on the top of the mat. If that option was not checked, color keyed rubber floor mats could be purchased from the dealer, but those mats did not have the “Cougar” raised outline on the mat - the mat was devoid of any Cougar identification, although it was exactly identical to the “Cougar” emblem embossed mat in every other respect. I have a factory set of the “Cougar” embossed mats blue to match the interior in my XR7.
Actually you could get either as a over the counter option. All the Green and White D4WY mats in circulation came from me years ago when I cleaned out a couple of dealerships. A really nice used black pair is worth about $250.
