I wanted to share with you guys some of the most amazing stuff in the world! Evapo-Rust maybe some of you have used it? I have been using it at work and on my car parts for several years…we have a 55 gallon barrel of it at work, but you can buy smaller jugs at O’Reilly Auto parts. Anyway, see the picture below. Side one soaked overnight and the rust just wiped right off with a blue shop towel. It looked pretty much just like what you see soaking on side two. It’s funny, it actually looks BETTER where the rust was! All that and it is super safe and even bio-degradeable…Just wondering, do any of you have any rust on any of your cars!? LOL!!
How about a shot of “after”??? I used some liquid, but don’t think it was the Evapo Rust…and never considered using it on the window brackets…DOH!!! Maybe “next” time!
Does it come in the handy wading pool size container? About 8" deep would be perfect!
No kidding! I wish I would have bought the five gallon bucket! I had to do the window brackets in two steps…We have all seen more than a few cars that need to be dipped in that wading pool you talked about!!!
Thanks for posting this… I bought some snake oil at a car show that was supposed to work like this but did nothing… I thought all of this stuff was a scam.
Obviously if the rust is too deep and pitted there is only so much this stuff can do, but for surface rust it is amazing! It’s funny, when i first saw it about 4 years ago it was in an article in HotRod magazine. The car they tested products on was a '68 Cougar! see the link below…

Wow…that worked really well…my tracks look like your before photo’s, and now you’ve got me itching to pull them back out!
What are you going to do to protect them once you have removed the rust?
This made me lol like a Hyena.
That’s a damn good question…one I don’t know the answer to yet…it is never seen, so I suppose a coat of silver Rustoleum wouldn’t be out of the question…
You can heat the part (to remove all water) and soak it an any oil. Many choice things like Bio-Shield or Corrosion X for long term protection with limited surface issues you can get with regular oil
Have used Evapo for over a year - good stuff so far
I thought I should do another before and after…I was worried that the second piece wasn’t going to clean up as well. I had to soak it longer than the first. Soooo, about 36 hours later here is what I got…
