I’m always looking for new pictures of Cougars and doing Google searches. Several of us had posted about the blue 69 Cougar in the new movie Bad Times at the El Royale. Well today when searching I came across someone who pointed out a 69 Cougar in the show The Spear. It’s Season 14 and episode 9. I have no clue about the show but I downloaded that episode and looked for the Cougar. Well low and behold it sure looks a lot like the 69 Cougar used in Bad Times at the El Royale. So, I wonder… is that car making it’s rounds in Hollywood???
Supernatural uses a lot of older cars in their episodes. The main car is a 1967 4 door Chevy. In the early season another main car was a 1970 or 1971 2 door Chevelle. I remember a mid 70s Ranchero, quite a few 60s-80s Ford trucks.
There is a group (company) in California that supplies period correct cars for movies and television shows. A friend of mine sold a 64 Chevy at action in Indianapolis a number of years back and that’s who purchased the car.
Scott B., Talked to my friend and he checked his records but couldn’t come up with the information. He did mention that the credits at the end of movies will typically list the company or group that supplies the vehicles used in the movie. I have never watched the credits of movies close enough to pick up on that information. May have to try it and see if that is true.
Supernatural and Riverdale are both filmed in Vancouver BC, so could be the same car. Pretty sure Royale was filmed in California, so probably not the same one in that.
Yes in the Gotta movie there is in fact a '69 cougar dressed as an Eliminator. My wife picked it out before I did. Not sure where the movie / show was filmed or if the Cougar is in fact an Eliminator, but as least the Cougars are getting some big screen love.
