Saving old interior

Heat has shrunk the edges of some of the interior parts, as seen in the photo. Metal edges protrude out, where the vinyl has shrank.

Anybody know of a way to try and get the material to re-stretch or reform over the edges of the metal frame?
It will clean up nicely but I don’t want to destroy it. A heat gun perhaps??

Is there anyway to save items like molded console padding??

SMS and Auto Custom Carpet specialize in leather and vinyl. But targeted at floors and seats. They will send you sample for review. Guessing the integrated thick padding material is difficult to reproduce. Thinner applications might be possible but color matching will be a nightmare.

I am working to restore a saddle interior also. Color has faded to a GM shade it seems. Ha!

My panel around the radio has be chopped slightly. I’d be interested in any ‘extra’ saddle parts you have.

I believe a lot of things can be saved, it just depends how much effort you want to put in. I think the case with most of those items is the foam expanding rather than the vinyl shrinking. And the original adhesives giving up.
