And at number 7 starting from 3:
I’m glad Cougar made the list… of course I think it should be number 1. Riviera’s are nice but the Cougar is a better looking car. Looking at the overall list, they were definitely leaning towards GM. I can think of some other Ford’s that should have been on it… Thunderbird comes to mind…
I prefer the 65 Riv over the 63…
When I got into old cars the Riviera, Cougar and Grand Prix were my top picks. Only the Cougar would fit in my garage though. So here I am. Glad it turned out that way. Great folks in the Cougar and FE world.
I’ll take a 61 Starliner over a 63 Riviera all day long.
I don’t understand why the 77 Cougar Villager Brougham wasn’t on the list.
Why the H3? No way.
Bah. The Pontiac Aztek didn’t make the list.
Most beautiful car that was mass produced IMHO (not American): Jaguar XKE.
Dad bought one new during the poor quality years - underpowered gas guzzling 351M had piston slap from undersized pistons, squeaking from wrong rocker arms, front end dragged due to wrong front springs and bent frame requiring 1" spring shims, interior trim was left hanging loose without fasteners, AC compressor locked up shearing off clutch, orange peel paint job felt like sandpaper in places. It had a very smooth and quiet ride, and was still going strong at 120k miles when I sold it, but 1977 was not the Cougar’s best year!
