Seat Pans Replacement

I replaced the floor pan in my 68 Cougar some time ago and now am attempting seat supports. The units I received appear to be intended for a Mustang, they are too“tall” causing my head to touch the headliner (I am not tall 5’ 10”). I am considering cutting the “verticals” sufficiently to allow normal headroom. Anyone shared this experience. Your thoughts welcome. Jim

The WCCC site shows Mustang seat platforms to be 1" taller for the 67-68s. On my 70 I used Mustang ones and didn’t see a difference but the 69-70 ones are different.
