Selling My Dads 1967 Cougar XR7 With 390

Hey Everyone,

My father has asked me to sell his 1968 Cougar.

VIN: 8R93X518296

The car is a really nice driver quality. Runs / Drives as it should. There are a few minor gripes to address but nothing major. Numbers matching car. The Bill Of Sale he got from the last owner in CA indicated only 26,000 miles on the car. It might have rolled over but I don’t know for sure.

I don’t know much about the car other than what my father told me about it.

  1. Older but still decent black paint job. Paint is in good shape and really doesn’t need to be painted. Just some touch ups and a good sanding/buff job. The car is a CA car and there’s no rust under the car etc.

  2. Interior is black and in overall really good shape. Needs a new headliner to make it look really nice.

  3. Headlights inoperable.

  4. Taillights are not in sequence.

  5. Runs and drives great.

  6. Original engine and transmission

  7. Car has power disc brakes and power steering. Originally the car did have a/c but its been removed

Price is $17,500…I’m going to run the car in EBay but would prefer to sell it to a true enthusiast before dealing with EBay scammers.

Would prefer the buyer come see the car in person and take it home after testing it out…that said, I can help arrange with shipping.

Selling because there are simply too many projects and too many grandkids…time is limited.

You can reach me at 706-878-0758 or Dad (Eddie) at 706-892-6935

Dad’s a pretty ornery type…I wouldn’t suggest trying to negotiate over the phone…he’s likely to hang up on you and say he’ll just keep the damn car. Love him to death but the truth is the truth.

Hi James,
Very interested - check your PMs…

Hey Brian…didn’t see anything in my message box…give Eddie (Dad) a call at 706-892-6935

Sorry, I jumped the gun a little as I wanted to express my interest ASAP. The PM is there now.

Will have to coordinate the timing of any phone calls as I’m in Australia!

Now that would be cool to see the car end up in Australia…when you drain the oil does it go backwards?

No, but we do drive on the ‘wrong’ side of the road.

Always get people staring when they see a car cruising down the road with no one in the driver’s seat…

Here’s a link to more pics of the car if anyone wants to take a look.

Is there any near this car that could check it out for me?

Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Hey Bruce, I have a contact for a professional inspector in Atlanta that could do it for you.

PM me for details if you’re interested.
