I have slowly been fixing my new to me 1969 XR7 vert. The rear directionals were not working properly and armed with knowledge from here I checked the flasher can behind the radio… sure enough the wrong one. All my lights lighted at one time. I purchased an electronic version and still the same result. The other day I finally ordered the replacement solid state replacement from WCCC. In preparation for it’s arrival I looked in the truck to see what condition the box was in. Well to my surprise, no box. The PO had cut the sequential unit out and the plugs off… wired lights directly! I now need the harness from the front to the sequential unit and the loom from the box to the lights in the rear! Does anyone make an after market new set?
It’s just one harness from connectors at front of doors to the taillights. According to WCCC catalaog, XR7 is slightly different from standard, dealing with the fuel sender pigtail. I’m not aware of a reproduction. I’m pretty sure I have one in my “big box of wires.” I think I have a sequential box too (the solid state thing does not come with the enclosure). I’ll check tonite and let you know.
I was aware the XR7 dealt with the low fuel pigtail but did not know it was one piece. I almost ordered a box today but will wait until you check. Thank you!
I found the box. It will need cleaning, but appears unbroken. The harness I have is butchered up, missing a couple light sockets, and probably is from a standard. I say probably, because I don’t see a two-prong pigtail for the fuel sender. It’s all coiled up and zip tied, and I didn’t want to take it apart, so it might be there and I missed it. Nevertheless, this harness is not usable. It does have the connectors for the sequential box. If you’re interested in trying to splice parts from this into yours, you can have it for cost of shipping. Same with the box. email me your address if interested mreos @ charter (dot) net. I will be out of town thru 7/11 but will ship quickly upon return.
