Hey everyone new to the forum. Picked up a 68 cougar that has been in the family for 25 years or so and it’s been sitting for 5 or 6 years. Signal lights and tail lights don’t work or don’t work properly. Just wondering if anyone has ever done a sequencer elimination or if it’s even possible. Thanks
Typically the turn signal switch in the column has burned out causing the problem you have. Rewiring the entire car will be prohibitively expensive I don’t think you want that.
Cougars Unlimited has a lot of info about troubleshooting the turn signals:
They also make a electronic module to replace the mechanical one which I’d think would be preferable to removing something as cool as the sequential turn signals.
