Smog/Thermactor

Sorry this response took so long - don’t check here daily. In 68 all engines had the relocator on the passenger side and Thermactor and non Thermacotors didn’t have one on the drivers side. You can find them added during “restoration” by owners who added back systems and mixed and matched parts from 67 versions

in 68 California emission standards and requirements were the same as all 50 state. Stayed that way for Mustangs and Cougars until 70 when they separated again into different requirements

Our all original 19,000 mile 1968 XR-7 F code 4 speed Dearborn built car delivered to PA has the thermactor. Back in the day, the local Ford dealer here in Maryland had a 1968 Falcon in stock F code 3 speed manual that also had the thermactor. My understanding is that all of the manual transmission cars in 1968 had the thermactor.
