This 1967 Cougar was the biggest cat on the block. Only 2.7K out of 151K Cougars produced were an XR7 GT. This is most likely a 1 of 1 car. Absolute rare gem but no more time to restore. Planning on starting a family soon and focusing on other projects.
Cougar History:
- August 8, 2019 Drove car only 1/2 mile from the transport trailer to the garage and parked in the garage and covered ever since (see video link below).

Drivetrain:
- 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 GT 390 S Code – VIN 7F93S564799 (See Marti Report)
- 390 FE Block – Dated April 8, 1969 (see photos)
- C6 3 speed auto trans – Not sure the date and originality (shifted fine when I drove it)
- S Code Intake – C7AE 9425-E (Dated April 5, 1967)
- GT Heads and Exhaust Manifolds
- Aftermarket Radiator, Fan and Carb aftermarket
- Missing: Air Cleaner Assembly, and Air Conditioning Pump/Hardware/Brackets (correct triple sheave crank pulley)
- Rear End Housing Original (Pumpkin is not original)
- Power Brakes and Front Discs (original)
- Suspension: Everything stock (steering, control valve, upper/lower control arms, leaf springs, front springs, etc.) except for ram.
Exterior:
- Body is primed (Lines are good on the car, straight)
- Trim (organized and labeled): Have all rear trim. Missing 2-3 pieces in front. Most should be good cores (no pitting).
- Wheel Moldings: Missing but have a NOS pair in original packaging w screws (Not part of Sale)
- Bumpers: Good Cores, some scratches, no pitting
- Front and Rear Headlights: Original in good condition (Headlight vacuum assembly in a box)
- Rust – The car is in really great shape. Only place I found was in trunk plugs and passenger side floor pan.
Interior: Not new or showroom
- Rear Seat: Good condition, some tears on top
- Front Seats: Good condition, not aware of any tears (Mustang seats, not Cougar)
- Console: Still in great condition
- Gauges: Have All gauges. (Purchased A-grade Oil and Temp Gauge from Cascade Classics – both need to be installed).
- Electric: Lights and lighting in the car. Some gauges are not functioning
- Carpet, Dash and Door Panels should be reupholstered/replaced ( I have the components for the driver side door that are not in the pics. Window rolls up fine.)
- No headliner but have ribs
- Door Panel Backer Boards: Original C7W code
- Wire harness Original
- Horn Ring Included

- GT Equiptment Group: Missing Chrome Dress Up Kit
- Limited Slip Differential: Not Original Gears (Original Housing w/ Plug on back)
- Console: Still in great condition
- Power Steering: On car (not original color)
- Tilt-Away Wheel: On car
- Air Conditioner: Interior hardware included, missing all components under hood
- AM/8 Track: Do not have. Only aftermarket radio (Have mercury radio w/ correct radio plate)
- Tinted Glass: All original glass (Dec 1966) except for front windshield (cracked)
- Door Edge Guards: Missing
- Style Steel Wheels: Missing
- Rear Bumper Guards: Original – have in a box w/ hardware
- 3.25 gears: Not original
