Speaking of Spam... WCCC joins the crowd!!!

This is a good opportunity to thank Bill and his guy for providing this forum, it is so nice not to be bombarded with links, banners and the like. THANK YOU and fantastic job, seems like the site picks up a little more momentum everyday. Andrew just sent out our first mass emailing on Friday to over 13,000 customers. It was a blanket 10% off coupon for our site for those that want to subscribe to our email list. We followed up on Sunday with our first “newsletter”. Andrew decided to be rather conservative, the rules state that you can only send folks who have given you their email through business contact. We went a step further and went for the dual opt in (you have to opt in) which means just a fraction of our 13,000 customers who have given us an email will get the newsletter. The reason we did that is it is the rule for foreign customers (we have many) and so many in our database are shops who ordered on behalf of customers. So those who got it, what do you think? One obvious mistake is we chose the new COUGAR fender covers as our new “Featured Item” when we only had 2 in stock, oops…

Got it, opted in, and making a list of “tidy up” items…and a fender cover…:poke:…LOL.

Is there a process to opt in for those who did not receive the emailing? I have ordered from WCCC numerous times, almost exclusively online but maybe one or two phone orders. Maybe I used my work email and that is pretty tight on what is allowed to come in. I ask not so much because I have much to order these days but because I would like to read the newsletter.

I got an email with a link, says if I click the link it will automatically add a one-time 10% off coupon to my cart. I love it. But I’m scared to click it, as I’m not ready to order anything this second. Waiting to get a gift certificate for Christmas. Excited to be able to finally order more stuff from y’all. I have so many saved bookmarks of stuff I want to buy from you. Should be picking up at least a couple things after Xmas. Coupon = good.

It was a very minimalist, straightforward email. I was very happy to receive it.

Don - I looked at your email marketing service’s website, and couldn’t find an answer within my limited attention span. Do they harvest our email addresses for any use other than what WCCC sends us?

I used mine for the heater core I’m going to need once I put the cam kit I got for Xmas installed. :smiley:

Good question! No… Very secure on that issue and we researched them (and others) thoroughly before we pulled the trigger.

Good Point! I think we will put the opt in link in a few prominent places like the front page of our site, email signature and maybe my signature here? Does that look tacky to have it in my my forum signature?

One of the remarkable things here is that WCCC has over 13,000 customers, and yet - when I have called, they recognize me and know what car I have, and give truly personalized service. Sure, Don has gotten confused once or twice thinking I live in Arizona, but that’s forgiveable since I met him there and my Q-vert came from Mesa. Kudos to Don, Lin and the rest of the crew (and especially to the shipping department for knowing my correct address…lol).

In order to sign up all they need to do is send an email to wcccnewsletter@getresponse.com. They will receive the same confirmation as the customers that we uploaded and when they confirm, will be added to our list and receive their 10% coupon

And this time of the year, I think half of Minnesota is living down here, LOL!

I received the email and I was so excited. I thought my wife had bought me gift certificates for Christmas or my Birthday, but I saw this thread and now I am bummed. I guess I will have to buy my own gift certificates.

I think you mentioned once on the other site how you have a “slow period” where your sales are down, can you let me know when that is? I want to make sure I buy some things during that time period.

Actually… This is the time of year we do the tax time / reduce inventory boogie. Sales can be a little slow this time of year thus some sales incentives, news letter and lots of reduced prices on our site right now. Thanks for caring about us Paul, it means the world to us when we get responses like this from loyal customers that basically say to us “We like WCCC and want you to succeed!”

It looks like you are trying to conduct business, Don. You not only provide the necesssary parts for the madness, you provide accurate useful information!

Don I received the email and news letter also. I will wait as many others here are doing till I see what Santa brings for Christmas. I would like to change my email address because everything went to my work email. I will do that when I place my next order. Thank you for the 10% offer, WCCC & CCC are second to none.
