I was wondering if anybody happens to have the shock mount piece that is in the body between the 2 support channels? I have a cat needing a repair, and thought If I could see the piece out of the car I could get a better idea of what I need to repair. I have a 70Bosscat here that I can see the piece, but hoping …
Here are some pictures of my Boss 302 Mustang on the rotisserie last year when I was cleaning up the underside. They should show what you need to see in the stagger shock area.
Brian,
whats to say? that car looks great! The panel looks a bit different all cleaned up! I did get lucky and find a panel that was cut from a Cat. I am going to pick it up soon and carefully “disect” it so I can take the shock barcket. This will give me the thickness and shape/angles for it.
Thanks Bill,
I was really surprised how good the underside really was once I got it cleaned up. The quarter panels were replaced at some point on the Mustang, so I thought cleaning the underside was going to open a big can of worms. Scrapped the grease and grim off and a good power wash and some more sanding and it was ready for paint. Once In awhile you see that cross member for the stagger shock for sale out of a parts car. I was thinking someone was selling a repo version, but don’t remember what vendor.
I bought the Auto twirler plus a few years back before I started the XR7-G restoration. It more then paid for it’s self on the first car. http://www.autotwirler.us/
