Stainless Steel Exhaust system

Looking for a complete replacement exhaust system for 1970 428/4-speed Eliminator. Does anyone make a stainless steel exhaust system from stock manifolds out to back bumper? If so, is it worth the trouble or just go with aluminized steel? Opinions?

Chuck

Waldrons Exhaust makes SS systems.

I just poked around at Waldron, and the pricing for stainless seemed more reasonable than in the past. Their “store” lets you get most of the way, but a phone call would probably cut through any questions. They show 8-12 week backlog. Waldron may promise stuff like muffler length is same as OEM and on a high value car like yours, that (and stainless) would be a good investment.

I’m using one from an outfit in CT Precision Exhaust on my '68 302. The owner is a nice guy eager to please. He may only offer aluminized like mine, which looks perfect after 3 years. It required only a little persuasion on a pipe or two. If you buy through WCCC, it gets drop shipped from there anyway.

Depending on the gauge, a S.S. system could be considerably more heavy that a regular option. Something to inquire about I suppose.

The most accurate 1970 B2 and 428 exhaust system is Scott Fullers. He does not do stainless, but he will do all aluminized including h-pipe if desired.

Are you restoring this, or driving it ?

I am restoring it AND then driving it.

Your car deserves the Scott Fuller system.

Sounds like it’s not going to be a trailer queen, but a day 2 car with your mods maybe. $2500 or less than $1000 for stainless.
Save the money for tires IMO
