Suggestions on changing a fuel system?

I am planning on changing my fuel tank, fuel lines and fuel filter.

My trunk has junk! problems with floaties and rust and who knows what.

1968 base with a 302 and 4 speed

Looking for advice on what not to do, be for I do do.

Here’s a partial guide.

Thanks, I’ve watched it a few times.

My life is different. If it can get messed up, it will likely get there 70% of the way. These guys look like actors and trained professionals. I’m hoping some dipshits out there like me can fill in the blanks. ;)

I don’t have any tips other than having all of the right parts on hand before diving in. Installing the new fuel lines may be challenging if the car isn’t high enough.

Fuel lines will require some patience to gently bend to fit your car. Avoid stainless steel - very hard to bend. Some replacement tanks don’t align well with the fuel filler tube, but otherwise that’s an easy swap. Don’t forget to flush all the debris out of your fuel pump, clean out the carb, and install a fresh fuel filter after you are through.

Have some basic fuel line tools on hand- line wrench’s, tubing bender and flaring tool can be handy. The new lines are usually shipped folded to save space and shipping expense. As mentioned earlier steel is easier to work with and holds up fine on vehicles not driven in bad weather. Not a technically difficult project. Having a clean fuel system is worth the time and $$ invested.
