Hey guys i really need some help here. My tail light sockets are rooted on my 69 but here in australia it costs $40 each for these bay15d 1157 sockets which wouldn’t be a problem if i wasn’t buying 6 of them. I don’t care at all if the sockets aren’t exactly the same as the original ones, I just want them to work so I can drive it. What can I use as a cheap substitute that can be attached to the car? I’m getting so sick of these lights i’m considering removing the computer which is on the blink and just using the taillights as brakes and the reverse as indicators. Has anyone done this?
Also I don’t know anything about electrical stuff so there probably is an easy solution but I just don’t know how all of this wiring business works.
You could buy a used grade B standard tail light harness from WCCC pn# 26949 for about $85.00 and use all the sockets or the harness.
thanks mistress. i just had a look and they said not compatible with xr7 which i failed to mention mine was but will probably still work if i go with the non sequential tail light option?
my guess that the only difference in the wire harness would be an extra wire for the low fuel light unless the connector plug is different.
