The '68 has a new headliner.

I’m in the middle of restoring my interior but progress slowed down for a variety of reasons. Mostly trying to get the best color match for the new headliner material. I ended up using SMS material. More costly but I couldn’t ask for a better match. The first shipment from SMS was actually the wrong order entirely. However they quickly responded and rectified the problem. So no complaints whatsoever. With all this drama and shutdowns going on I can understand an “opps” here and there.

The car had a mouse problem way back before I purchased it. Thankfully only the soft materials had damaged. It will have the “new car” smell when I am done with her. I did outsource the headliner to a local specialty shop. They only removed the rear glass and were able to tuck in the front.

Here’s the mouse motel up in the headliner.

Best picture showing the great color match. Map light piece also cleaned up well and was in great shape overall.

I did opt to retain the shoulder strap mounts and will install and use them in the future. I am actually gathering materials to see if I can add rear shoulder straps but have it look somewhat like a factor option. Not the priority though.

The headliner looks great.

Congrats on that as it is a nice start and big item to check off the list.
I cracked up when I saw your pic of the mouse nest.
My 68 XR7 had one in the exact same place! I have the same pic.
What did the install cost u?
I will be doing this too.

I paid $800 for the installation. They only removed the rear window. I had to purchase the headliner, clips and rear window seal. That was another $300 I think.
