I think my headlight switch might be broken, the shaft won’t stay in. How can I get this shaft seated? I can’t get the switch knob to engage the switch. The bezel is screwed in all the way. I removed the knob and dash bezel to paint the dash. Now I cant get the knob to click in. It just pulls out. Is there a trick to try? I did remove the bezel and was able to insert the knob without the bezel and it locked in. Any ideas? It’s a 68 with the vacuum lines on the switch.

They can sometimes be tough to get them to snap in place. Like it says, rotate while pushing.
