The Honorable Mr. Basore

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MR. BILL!!!

LOL!

I still don’t look a day over 75.

Doesn’t matter how old one looks, it is how young one feels that matters. So go out and feel like a kid!

Happy birthday from Heather and me.
Have you gotten anything good to eat since we were refused food at the show in Dearborn?

As you know I am well equipped to miss a few meals, fortunately that has not been the case. I did fillet those folks. I apologize for my countryman’s rudeness, that was completely unacceptable.

Oh, man, I smell a story…

On the contrary, it was quite entertaining to us quiet Canadians.

Happy Birthday, Bill!

It was not nice of them to decide not to serve all the people in the line when they decided that they wanted to be done for the day. There were a half dozen or so that suddenly had to go elsewhere. Not good business practice, even if most of us were from out of town.
The alternative was good, so to heck with them.

At the Dearborn 50th Anniversary Event I had the pleasure of meeting Scott and Heather in person for the first time. Now Scott and Heather have done so much for the Cougar community over so many years, and then they had gone to the expense and trouble to bring their beautiful G all the way to Dearborn from their home in BC Canada, (even smuggling in contraband defective wheels) that it seemed the least I could do was to buy them lunch. At that event, that meant going to a food truck. Perhaps the only thing that was lacking in Dearborn was enough of those food trucks to handle the crowd…

Waiting in a long line for food is a tough choice when there are so many incredible cars to see, and great people to meet. Eventually hunger won out and we decided to join the line for some Mexican food. When we arrived at the food truck the line had formed at the window on the side of the truck, extending beyond the shade of the canopy over head. Even for an Arizinian like me it was hot. After baking there for a while, some one from within the food truck came out and moved the line around toward the back of the truck in the shade. We were grateful for that. But what happened was that a new second line had formed at the window and they were now serving those new arrivals. Eventually they started serving our line again. As we got to within about 4 patrons from having our order taken, an employee looked straight at us and said they were not going to take any more orders. I told them we had been waiting in line for some time and suggested they cut off service once they covered those who were already in line. The answer was not polite, they made no attempt to even act like they appreciated that we had been on line for about 30 minutes by that time. Basically they gave us the big FU with matching hand signals. I got pictures.

I can tell you that the folks at Ford feel like this party was at their house and they did not appreciate people being treated rudely in their house… I suspect that that food truck won’t be back there anytime soon.

Happy Birthday Bill!

Hats off to ya pard. There’s something pretty gutsy about standing on line for food truck Mexican food to begin with. They probably did you a favor.

I’m late to this party, Happy Birthday one day late.

I am late as well…I cannot adequately express my gratitude for all the sound advice and guidance that you have provided for me sir. My best to you always…
