I agree with you wholeheartedly - Kevin is the guy who legitimizes these cars and sets aside any speculation, inaccurate claims, misinformation, speculation, etc.. I have obtained Marti Reports for every car that I have ever had in my Ford collection (as long as Kevin was able to provide one). I have three Marti Reports for this car: the first was a Deluxe Report produced in 2011 before Kevin had the dealer invoice in his possession and was unable to verify the factory A/C option. Therefore, that report does not list the ultra-rare factory Whisperaire A/C option (with the 427) because he could not verify that option at the time that the report was produced (it does list many other options such as the 427, Traction Lock, etc., etc.). The second report is also a Deluxe report and was produced in 2025 after Kevin was provided with a copy of the dealer invoice - that report includes the factory A/C. I then ordered an Elite Marti Report (attached) in 2026 after I took delivery of the car. It also lists the A/C and indicates that the car is 1 of 1 for more than one reason: it is the only car produced in this configuration even without the A/C option, and is also the only 427 produced with A/C. I believe that it was Royce Peterson who, c.2010/11 interacted with Larry Miller (the salesman who sold the car when new at Marstaller Motors) regarding another car, then discovered during that interaction that Larry had retained the original dealer invoice regarding the Unicorn (because it was so unique). I also think that it was Royce who provided Kevin Marti with a copy of that dealer invoice which allowed Kevin to update his data base and produce an accurate report which included the A/C. As an aside, I believe that when Royce posted about the find c.2011 he correctly predicted that the car would not be sold while the original owner was alive. I just happened to be in the right place at the right timeâŚ
Whatâs left to say except wow!
Thanks so much for sharing your story and some documentation with us.

Ditto! I have really enjoyed learning more about this very cool car!
Cool history. Hereâs a coincidence, Waco Eliminator https://forum.classiccougarcommunity.com/t/0f91g512239-unrestored-comp-blue-black/4991/
, which I acquired from the original ownerâs estate in 2015 was also sold at Marstaller, which was still family owned and at the same location in 2021.
Thanks for sharing this.
If itâs possible, please pass along the links to any new articles.
Wow! What a story. As I was nowhere near this forum in 2011 I had never seen the original post; thanks Bill! Absent also for the 2016 revival courtesy of Royce; thanks again. But the culmination in 2025, instigated by Chris (another thank you) which led to Daveâs âout of the woodworkâ reveal - Oh migration! Dave, I am so glad you wound up with it - your amazing! Thanks to all for an excellent read and great summation!
