So after finally replacing the heater core in the '68 Cougar, with AC, I decided it would be nice to check if the car had a thermostat. I bought the car from an Arizona owner and she has always run cool.
I was aware that these bolts can be problematic so I soaked them with Kraoil for a few days. Well, both snapped without much effort. I was able to get the top remains out but the lower is not giving up. Outside of removing the manifold to drill and tap the sucker, what ideas are out there. I see no way to drill it out with the manifold on the car, I have tried heating it with a pencil torch, I have tried Kraoil and CR freeze. The big hammer is still locked in the tool box. TIA
