Love that '78 Effie, Brian!
On a whim I made a trade with my neighbor. My parents old Chrysler Concorde for the 78 pickup. It was his idea
just seen him Sunday and he still thinks he made an awesome trade We are both happy, the 78 is rust free from TN.
Excellent trade!!!

My current daily driver is a 06 Z06 and the driver previous to that was a 96 Impala SS. I sure to miss the SS.
OK - Full discloser time…

There’s more but Photobucket is being weird…
OK, here’s an update. The Mercedes has gone away and been replaced by this 2014 Wrangler Rubicon:
In addition, the 2004 Wrangler will be going up for sale. I just decided that constantly walking past the Mercedes in the garage to drive a 10-yo Wrangler was a message I shouldn’t ignore. A collateral benefit is we now have a JK to use as a product demonstrator at the store to go with the 2002 TJ we still have.
OK, I’ll join this party with my story. I have always been a Ford guy throughout my life (I’m almost 70) with an occasional foray into other makes. The first car I ever bought on my own was a chocolate brown 1958 Ford 4 door sedan. I paid $100 for it in 1967 and it died (terminally) after just a couple of months. My next car that year was a 1960 T-Bird which I owned for a couple of years until it rusted out in NYC. It wasn’t until I moved to Arizona in 1972 that I got more interested in old cars due to the rust free climate. I’ve been heavily into T-Birds for most of the time but have also owned Mustangs, Galaxies, Retractables, and a couple of Cougars along the way.
With few minor exceptions I have remained loyal to Ford products, even driving a late model Crown Vic former CHP cop car as my daily car.
And then, in 1994, a car came out of my TV set and took root in my mind an heart.
The Dodge Viper.
I wanted one ever since but it wasn’t until two decades later that I could afford one. I spent a year looking for one that would suit me and in October 2014 I gave myself a birthday present of this black 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster.

Nice!! I was in love with those too when they came out. I was just a wee lad then, but I had a big poster of one on my wall. Think is was a white GTS with blue stripes, on a shiny floor, with lighting in the background. Aw yeah.
I ordered this car from the factory so I designed it exactly how I wanted, from colour (black sapphire mettalic),to interior trim to options. I added almost every option available except the cargo net, including the performance exhaust. As per my sig, it’s a 2016 BMW M235i Cabriolet.
The best part is I picked it up in Germany and spent 3 weeks driving in Germany, France and Italy. The car is an absolute rocket, and driving it on the autobahn and autostrada at +200km/hr was a total blast. I would go to jail if I drove it like that here!
The photo is of it on the turntable in the BMW Welt where I picked it up. This is the 1st sight of you have of your car from the top of a stairway before they take you down to hand over the keys.

That’s a classy way to be introduced to your new car! Nice ride, too!
My sister in law went over to pick up her Volvo a year or so ago, said it was quite the “experience/royal treatment”.
I had an '88 2.9 4wd five speed in college. Great little truck.
I had a 89 2.3 5 speed. Had 275,000+ on it when I got a new one in 2006.

One of my brothers bought one new and had to sell it within a month because he was getting WAY too many tickets. LOL
I had a friend in high school that had one. I watched him outrun a 427 powered '55 Chevy one night with the a/c on. Very fast car. He’d done some mods, but still that '55 was one of the fastest in town and he got SCHOOLED!!! Great cars. I always wanted the GNX. It looked like Dart Vader’s hot rod.

I sold mine to a friend when I moved to Georgia. He ended up racking up 500,000 miles with no rebuild. Sold it because he thought it was time for a new one, and the guy who bought it from him put on another 150,000 before he sold it. I should have kept it. The part of Il where I’m from it wasn’t uncommon to sell a car before you hit 100,000.
I’d have to say that this one was sought out as Don said. Shortly after I was married in 1975 we went bowling in another couple’s brand new Blazer. I really liked that style of vehicle and wanted one immediately. 13 years later my new business partner had an '86 Ramcharger that I drove a few times. At the time I really didn’t like anything from Dodge/Chrysler but I really liked the style of the vehicle again. It must have been the OJ Bronco chase in '94 that that re-sparked my interest. Finally in 1995, just 20 years after adding Blazer to my Christmas list I found a low-mileage white and gray Bronco.
After owning it for 20 years and putting very few miles on it, I had it repainted to the navy blue and white that I have always liked. It is by far the longest I’ve owned one vehicle and I don’t plan to get rid of it anytime soon.
:y:, love the 'last gen" Broncos…piddle around searching for one every great while.
