Time to come clean / spill the beans

Get a T Type and you’ll have the same car in a different color besides black… and it will probably be cheaper.

Had a 91, 93, 96 (last year) before I was forced to go to the dark side bowtie suburban :smoke:

I had one, I think it was a 1989 with the 302. Only had it for a couple months.

I had to make room in the garage this fall for the 70 XR7…

I drive a '96 at work for my shop vehicle and love it. Great vehicles and yours is a very nice clean example that hasn’t been butchered for off roading’s sake.

Nice truck! Always loved the first gen Rangers. I was able to pick up the 1990 version from a state auction a few years back. It’s a total stripper model and was a little rough around the edges body-wise, but it runs great. Plus I’m a sucker for a cap with camper screens built in.

I had an '88 Ranger 4wd five speed 2.9 v6. One of the best vehicles I ever owned.

I hear you. They are great little runabout trucks. I wish mine was a 5 speed. It’s from the era when most of those trucks (and cars) came with a standard manual, but the sadly the ONLY two options mine came with were slider rear window and an auto trans. Not even a radio. I love the window, but really lament the lack of a stick. They probably had too many state workers burning through clutches and figured they’d spring for the automatic.

If I had the time, and money, and extra garage space, and a much shorter to-do list, and no common sense left, I’d love to swap in a 5 speed manual. Throw in the V6 and 4WD while I’m at it. Hehe probably not worth it for a $700 truck, but a man can dream…

LOL. The guy I sold it to drove it for another ten years, then sold it to a another friend who drove it for another ten years. I was driving back and forth to college at the time and put 70,000 miles on it in one year (school, part time job, and music shows took their toll on the odometer). Someone should have contacted Ford to do some kind of Toyota type commercial “Look how many miles my Ranger went with no rebuild”.

Only one classic Cougar in the garage - my '71 XR-7 convertible M Code 4 speed. Other toys in the garage, not all FoMoCo. And like Don Rush, I’m a huge fan of hybrids and EVs. I’ll be putting a Chevy Bolt in the garage the moment they hit the market.

I won’t be putting anything other than a FOMOCO product in my garage since the bailout. Another factor in that decision is a good relationship with the local dealership. Like the banks, some things should have been allowed to fail. Especially when it comes to the money that gets extorted from our paychecks to help fund it.

I joined this forum to discuss Cougars. Not social and political viewpoints.

You just did.

I just gave my reason for why going forward when it comes to buying a U.S. brand it would be a Ford. As far as the sentences that followed, they were simply the truth. If it hurts, oh well. Maybe if we did allow people to figure out how correct their own bad decisions it would go a long way to reversing the current trend of “participant” trophies over rewarding skill, dedication, tenacity, and talent. Now I’m starting to discuss social viewpoints, although if I hear the words social and justice in the same sentence, I’m gonna’ take a hostage (not really, so nobody get all thin skinned and call the authorities, it’s a joke). That and anything to do with Lady Gaga.

Alright. Now I’m off my soapbox. So how’s your Cougar running these days? Not trying to be a smart ass or start a stupid little online war. Those are for the former telephone warriors (you know, the guy who would threaten all sorts of stuff on the phone and get all nervous when the saw you in person back in the day).

Sorry guys, a little jet lag, more accurately 12 hr car ride lag, does nothing for a guy’s mood.

ha! got the juke… fun car put not pretty… girlfriends ride she loves it…

my high school 65…

owned off and on since 1986… never let it go now

…and I found one.

After a few months of searching, I came upon this 83 Buick Regal wagon locally on Craigslist. Built on the G-Body platform, it will work well for my needs. I have a lot of spare parts in my inventory to fit cars like these. Plus, it came with a bunch of extras too, including the missing bumper fillers. It’s a California body that the previous owner started making a “hot rod” out of for his 18 year old son. It has a freshly rebuilt 350 SBC, freshly rebuilt TH400 trans with shift kit, and an 8.5" limited slip rear with 3:73 gears. He also had a custom bent Flowmaster dual exhaust system with X-pipe made. Then his son decided that he doesn’t want to go to school or get a job. So the Dad said, “I’m done!” I got it for less than the cost of the engine and trans rebuild.

The body has more digs and dents than a golf ball, the engine wiring is like spaghetti, and the interior is a mess. But all of the hard and EXPENSIVE work was already done. I just need to reverse a few things that were done, clean it up a bit and put my own spin on it. It will be a budget build that I’m not going to repaint. I hope to have it ready in time for the Two Terrors’ baseball season this coming Spring.

Sweet plug wires…:poke:

So here’s the new-to-me hooptie…'13 GT Premium, 6 speed, leather, yada-yada-yada…PO babied the thing, 33k on the ticker when I bought. It has the whale-shark-in-feeding mode GT500 clone grill, which I’m not overly fond of. Thinking of trading it to someone for their stock one…if it can even go back. (Just to be clear, though, I didn’t actively seek out a moosetang…it just seemed to pique me at the right moment…)

Nice shadow in the picture genius. :poke:
