Loving the wagon Mark
I know, I did it that way just for you!
It’s an 09 that’s pretty much untouched other than a Ford Racing suspension kit that I put on it a few years ago. The kit dropped it about 1.5" and made it handle significantly better without killing the ride. It’s up to about 170k miles and so far other than regular maintenance it’s only needed the electronic throttle replaced. I’ll probably drive it to about 200k miles then start looking for a replacement - either a Mustang or Focus ST.
My non-daily driver is an '08 Mustang Bullitt. I’ve done some suspension work to it (Ford Racing adjustable) and a few other upgrades, but is mostly stock. It mainly goes to automotive events where some sort of racing is involved. It’s been on several road courses, along with some autocrossing and quite a few passes down the 1/4 mile. Not the fastest thing out there, but it’s still fun. Here’s a shot from Gingerman Raceway in Michigan:
“but it’s still fun…”
And that right there, is all that matters!
I searched for almost a year before I bought my first Mark VII. I really wanted an SE like the black but found the grey one first and it was too nice to pass up.
I like oddball cars. These are comfortable and have enough power that they’re fun to drive as well.
I love the MKVII. Kind of a cross between a fox body tbird/cougar and a continental. A guy I worked with about ten years ago had one and it was a great car. Ran strong, and was actually nice to drive. A good balance between power, handling, and comfort.
Our neighbor is getting up in years and could no longer easily get in and out of her 1992 STS and wanted me to haul it to our yard to recycle it. I told her even though the shop says it needs $2k in repairs, it does not mean it has zero value and I would help her sell it for “something”. I have four boys and multiple times over the last year when they have wanted money for something I have pointed out the window at the car and told my boys, “Go knock on her door and ask her if you can do some yard work for that old Caddy”. Finally the 11 yr old got up the nerve and knocked on her door. He did 10 hrs of yard work and gutter cleaning and she handed him the title! We did a dozen little repairs and and spent $500 and it is not a bad car! I did not realize this was the last year of the 4.9 and there is a little bit of a following, he was able to sell it on CL in short order for $2000. All his teen brothers are a little jealous he is $1500 closer to his purchase of a used CRF150R Honda. They all get tired of me reminding them that “In my day, we used to go door to door with a lawn mower”. From what I see, these days people will go out of their way to find a job for a kid that has enough gumption to go door to door asking for work.
Cool story Don!
One of my other toys… Built it 15 years ago as a pro street. Just had to build me a supercharged motor! Running in the 9’s…
That’s OUTSTANDING!!! Well done!
It’s good to see someone teaching their children responsibility, and even better to see the kid “get it”. That CRF is a great little bike too. Good job. That’s not a bad looking caddy.
We bought our first ever Mustang and took delivery right after Christmas. I’ve resisted all these years but the current model finally does it for me. We ordered exactly what we wanted and waited an excruciating 2 months to get it. The 5.0 Coyote makes this a wonderful driver.
Wow - Beautiful new Mustangs, guys! Congratulations!!!
Ok here is my latest vehicle. 2008 Lincoln Mark LT.
I picked it up from the Lincoln dealership 3 weeks ago. The ride is much smoother than my Ford Sport-Trac.

Nice Mustang for sure. Race Red with the optional silver wheels is a nice combo.
Very nice, in my opinion this is the best color for the S550 Mustang…
Bought this back in June thinking I was going to need it for the commute into Vegas (I’m 70 miles to the NW)
Ended up not being the case but it’s nice to have a reliable car.
