My 68 doesn’t have a tire specifications decal anywhere on it. It has all kinds of other decals: jacking instructions, service stickers, emissions info, etc., but not so much as a spec of evidence where a tire decal might have once been. It’s even still got a Sears tire sticker from 1969 still hanging onto the underside of the trunk near the jacking instructions. When I got the car, it did not appear to have ever been repainted and my bodyshop guy believed it still had it’s original paint when he worked on it in 2006. So, is this something unusual? Where should the sticker be? For what it’s worth, the car is a “Home Office Reserve” car that according to the Marti report, went to Philco Corp.
If I remember correctly, it would be inside the glovebox on a 68. There is a smooth area in there which outlines where it should go.
I never thought of looking in the glove box, but no go. I can see the smooth area you are talking about, but no sticker and no trace of any adhesive. I suppose it’s possible the liner was replaced somewhere along the way.
Jeff B. is correct, glove box
