I installed a Heits Mustang 2 Rack and Pinion with 2 inch drop spindels conversion on my 68 Cougar i also drop the rear 2 inches. I am wanting to install the biggest tires and wheels i can. Anyone know what the biggest tires and what back spacing wheels i will need ?
Are you going to stay with 15 inch wheels
You can mock figure the max back spacing distance for the rear wheels by placing a straight edge on the mounting surface of the drum (or rotor if disc conversion) and measuring the distance from the straight edge to the outside of the leaf spring. Sidewall profile thickness of the tire choice would need subtracted from that dimension.
I’m not familiar with the Mustang 2 R&P… so, no info to offer on the front.
