I’ve got
This 67 GT with XR7 cloned interrior. Can anyone tell me what the function is supposed to be for the “panel” toggle switch? Mine does
Nothing.
It’s supposed to light up the interior lights under the dash near the kick panels. Perhaps when yours was retrofitted, that connection was never completed.
Does not also light up the instrument panel?
Good thing it wasn’t the ejector seat.
Not like the “ACCY” switch in the 69-70 XR 7?
I remember reading that some Aston Martins had a non-connected switch labeled “SPARE” to maintain symmetry in the dash design.
It was for the opera lights on the sail panels in the back seat. I re-wired mine to actually turn on the instrument (panel) lights on the dash when my dimmer switch died. Makes more sense to me that way.
Here’s a couple of photos to show which lights come on with my 67 XR7 when I switch the Panel switch.
Hope it helps.
Someone needs a vacuum.
The original owner of this GT E had the panel switch wired up to shut off the tail lights so he could out run the cops at night.
Brake lights too… HeHeHe
Ha ha. True. These darn kids. She’s my daily driver… so it’s hard to keep those rugs clean all the time.
