Found a local shop with a chassis dyno and took my car in. The technician says that my torque converter is too tight, stalling at around 300 rpm. This doesn’t make much sense to me since, according to google, they slip when faulty, not tighten up, and 300 is ridiculously tight. OEM is spec’d at 1800-2000.
Ideas? Not looking forward to installing a new converter and hope the tech is missing something.
1969 428 CJ with C6 - not sure if the converter is OEM or aftermarket. Trans was rebuilt before I bought it. Runs and shifts nicely.
