Trafalgar Blue Poly Color Code

Does anyone have a picture of a car with this color code? It was paint code “W” in 67. That was the original color of my car, and I have no clue what it would like painted all that one color.

Here is the full break down on my car:

Parchment Vinyl Roof
Closed Crankcase Emission System
Exhaust Emission Control
C-4 Select-Shift Merc-O-Matic
Electric Clock
Visibility Group
7.35X14-4 Ply Rated Tires
White Rayon Sidewall Tires
Console
Power Disc Brakes
Power Steering
Air Conditioner - Whisperaire
AM/8-Track Stereo Radio
Tinted Glass
Deluxe Seat Belts
Wire Wheel Covers

I came across this car, but am not sure if this is the exact color:

Something like this maybe?

Wow, that’s a very “ocean side condo” blue. That’s not really my taste, so now I won’t feel so bad about not going all original on the car.

“Ocean side condo blue” that’s a good one. What color are you thinking? Will you still stay in the blue family?
Steven

I’m not sure.

Seeing what, I think, is the factory color in sunlight instead of fluorescent helps a little. Found this pic, and it doesn’t look as much like a coral color.

Yup, in the sun, that’s pretty sharp!

Flourescents make mine look purple…

I like that color. Granted it doesn’t look great under the fluorescent lights. Just don’t drive it indoors and you’ll be all set.

No comment about 3’s looking purple.

Hook, line, and sinker.

:buck:

Nice one, Three! :ylsuper:

OK I have to admit I’m baffled by that one.

After looking at the pics in the other thread showing examples of colors, I like the Wellington Blue.

Will have to keep looking as examples come up and see what really catches my eye.

Also, I though Al Bundy drove a 72 Duster, not a 74 Dart.

“Al lives in Chicago and is the proud owner of a Dodge Dart (although the model shown on-screen is always a Plymouth Duster, it is referred to throughout the series as a Dodge Dart).”

This is according to Wikipedia, but there is a lot of debate over the actual year and model. What is clear is that it’s always referred to as the Dodge in the series.

I’d post mine but the paint is too far gone. So instead, I give you another example of 68’ Black Cherry:

According to my references, paint code W in 67 on a Mustang comes up with the name Clearwater Aqua. From what I can see, the codes represent the same colour with both Ford and Mercury- it’s seems that just the name changes- but I could be largely right, with exceptions always proving the rule, it seems!

Here is a picture of a car that looks like it may be the color. http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/03/image.pl?/show/03/ark/ark563.jpg

I think you’re right Peter, same color different name.

It’s difficult to get a picture of a specific car color that is on an original car due to the age of the paint and the lighting that it is in. Some of the pictures in this post look like Turquoise.

Ron

this is mine with the same paint code… my favorite cougar paint option…

I have a 1969 CJ 428 Eliminator with the color code W. It’s now painted competition yellow. Is this blue the original color??

Sorry Shep but there was no W paint code for 69 Eliminators.
3-comp orange
6-Bright Blue
9-Yellow
